The Avengables are a ragtag team of heroes run by Colonel Cobb, a retired military officer. Broc, one of his former soldiers and lone survivor of their top secret experiments, serves as his second in command. The current roster also includes Audrey, AKA Sapphire, a powerful mutant with telekinetic abilities. The latest member is Thom, more notoriously known as Red Death, a former vigilante that has an issue with authority. Together, they protect New Bloom City from Dr. Despairagus and his fellow super villains.

storyboards from episode 01
The Avengables is a blend of traditional puppetry, digital animation, special effects, puns, and 3D. After the script is complete, our talented voice actors bring the words to life. We sync up their performances with storyboards to create an animatic. This previsualization tool allows us to better plan our shots and prepare the miniature sets. When shooting, the puppeteers perform to the recorded dialogue to get the timing right. Edited with Adobe Premiere, composited in After Effects, sweetened via Audition, and facial animation done in Character Animator. The mouths and eyebrows are mapped onto the puppets using mocha and 3D camera tracking. Music and Foley are added once the picture is locked. Special effects, color grading, and the credits are added before rendering the completed episode.
